Well, it’s 2020 MacBook expectations should be met, it’s powerful… quite comfortable to hold .. I Just blindly went for it because of 256gb storage + HDFC 7k discount. It’s low priced compere to 2019 model with better improvement like Esc Key, magic keyboarder.

I have been a Windows/ Linux user all my life and so for me the switch to a Mac was a pretty big deal. Hence, I started doing my research for purchasing a MacBook way back in 2019. The butterfly fiasco plus a few other glitches dissuaded me from buying the 2019 model, so ever since the news of the 2020 model came out, I have been keenly watching and following YouTube reviews and ratings on various e-commerce sites to see what early buyers of the product had to say. It took a bit of convincing, but finally I decided to go with the current version. So if you are someone who really puts a lot of thought into a MacBook purchase, you might want to read on…Firstly, I intent to use the Mac mainly for 2 purposes (No, status quo has not been a criteria at all for me):A lightweight, portable machine that has excellent battery life and decent powerExperimenting with the music production softwares such as Logic Pro and Garage bandWith this being my priorities, here are some of the pros and cons that I have noticed both while researching and now, using.Pros:Portable – No brainer, this is as thin and light as it getsPowerful – The 1.1GHz 10th generation i3 processor does pack the power that is required for a notebook such as this. You can play moderately heavy games, do a fair bit of programming and even stretch things a bit by working on images and sounds. The machine handles everything just fine.Display – If you are moving from a Windows laptop or notebook, this will for sure leave you impressed.Keyboard – I have tried on the butterfly keyboard in the 2019 model, and so the return to the scissors keyboard a.k.a the “magic” keyboard is a welcome move. The keys have decent travel and depth and you can be sure to get decent typing speeds.Sound – Honestly, in a laptop this size, I wasn’t expecting much from the speakers. However, for me the biggest surprise was the clarity and depth in these speakers. Admittedly, they aren’t studio quality, but they do certainly pack a punch. The highs and lows have been balanced well, and the bass doesn’t produce that jarring effect. Moreover, the treble has been nicely moderated.Battery – I haven’t seen any review where they have cribbed about the battery life on any of the Macs.Design – Nothing much to say here, it’s there for all to see.ROI – The 2019 MacBook Air with i5 and 128 GB is still costlier that this one, so in that sense, I’m happy with the pricing. Also, considering that the 2017 version is still on Amazon for 65K odd, I’d any day take this for just 20K more.Cons:Heating – I never expected this to be an issue with a Mac, but truth be told, it does heat up to slightly uncomfortable levels. I did read and see this mentioned in a lot of the reviews, but I always wondered, how bad it could be. Well, if you have used HP laptops, you might recall a certain heat wave that makes you not want to rest your machine on your lap. This isn’t that bad, but considering you shell out nearly a hundred thousand bucks on this piece of machinery, you would be surprised that this is still an issue.Screen size – Now this is purely subjective. Honestly, I’m fine with this because I knew what I was getting into. But if you are someone used to 15.6 inch screens, you may find the 13.3 inch screen size a bit of a strain, especially if you have plans to do some serious photo or audio editing on this.Ports – This has been mentioned a gazillion times, and rightly so. Yes, we get that this is a compact equipment. I’m also okay that it only has USB-C thunderbolt ports. But a couple more would not have hurt.Overall, for professionals, students, entrepreneurs, writers, musicians and just about anybody who dreams of having a personal notebook to carry around, that is durable, powerful and reliable, this is definitely a great buy, subject to your budget constraints. Yes, there are plenty of other cheaper notebooks that provide you just about one or more of the above mentioned features, but the robustness of Apple’s hardware coupled with easily Apple’s best software product in MacOS seals the deal for those who can afford to shell out a few hundred dollars extra for that comfort and reliability.

I got this product 3 days back. Very poor camera quality. Even the 3 year old model of 2nd generation MacBook Air has a far far better camera quality. The image is all grainy image like an old phone camera. I am not even able to take my zoom meetings. This was not expected from the Apple product. I am consulting with amazon for replacing or returning my product.I will update here the further status.

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  Just received the macbook pro space grey 2020 Model. This is the higher spec model with core i5 10th gen processor and 16 GB Ram.I was coming from an early 2015 Macbook air and thought that this is the right time to upgrade. The key points that compelled me to upgrade to this new macbook pro vs the macbook air retina 2020 and macbook pro base 2020(8th gen processor)1. i5 10th gen processor with excellent heat rejection. This will enable the macbook to endure heavy loads for longer periods of time.2. 16 GB Ram. Will help in multitasking smoothly and also future proofing mac for atleast 6-7 yrs without any performance compromises3. 2 additional USB C ports for flexibility and convenience. You can plug the charger on either side of the macbook. My previous charger wire broke down due to continuous bending at the same position. This proved to be a very convenient feature for me. Also it will help in simultaneously connecting more peripherals like External HDDs, Monitors, keyboards and Mouse4. The touchbar is just amazing. Pretty thought of feature with wide range of customisations5. Improved speakers (good base and loudness) with respect to air 2020 and macbook pro base model. You will not need an external speaker with this. After using for a day looks like the battery performance is just equal to my previous macbook air (6-7 hrs of web browsing and video playback). Despite two cooling fans, It gets a little heated up sometimes. Also it is only slightly heavier than my previous macbook air, So I don’t think my portability has been compromised. Instead the actual physical dimensions are quite small as compared to the macbook air for the same 13.3 screen sizeIn my opinion one should only go for it if you can afford it, else stick to macbook air 512 gb as there is a whopping 50k difference between the two. The Macbook air will also get the general work done except for some extremely heavy tasks.

Hi guys,I have upgraded from Macbook Air 2017 to Macbook pro-2020 13″ 256GB variant. The main reason for my upgrade was for studies, coding, editing, and entertainment. I wanted to give the air to my mom for light usage as I had already used it for 2 years now and with mild usage, it would run 2 more years without any issues. Hence, I finally upgraded, and here is my detailed review of the product after 2 days of usage :I would start by saying that I am extremely delighted with the new Mac. The new magic keyboard is better than the one on the air. The body is beautiful and the look and design are elite. The space grey looks stunning and the size of the laptop is nice and convenient for typing and using it any place as per your comfort. The speed is really good for an 8GB RAM Mac and I have been trying out some light to moderate photo and video editing, it has been flawless with no rendering issues. I highly recommend keeping an HDD available to store files that you do not require always on your Mac and keep the essential files only for optimum performance. The display on this Mac is amazing, the pictures clicked on my iPhone look beautiful. The web browsing experience has been really good. Moderate level games run fine like Asphalt 8 or 9 even at top quality graphics. Overall, the experience has been fantastic and I am glad I upgraded to the Mac pro so soon and didn’t wait for Apple Silicon. This Mac is ideal for any student, average coder, professional work, or any relevant field where you need a powerful device and a compact, easy to carry machine. This doesn’t have a dedicated GPU but I don’t feel the need for it. The device in itself with all the features is a monster and can smoothly carry out all your daily operations. You can blindly go for this one and I am sure you won’t be disappointed at all. In accessories, I would suggest either a USB C dock or 2 converters to USB 3.0, a keyboard protector, and a good laptop sleeve or bag. This would easily last 4 years as per my understanding. Apple does a great job in terms of longevity, performance, optimization, and simplicity. If you have other Apple products, this would add value to your ecosystem too. Thanks for reading through, I hope you guys enjoyed and found this helpful. Cheers! 🙂

The whole lineup of macbook air 2020 model has a grainy camera. Apple is trying to hide this from the consumers but in this age of front camera being extremely necessary for video calls and work from home the camera quality is that or 240 pixels. I personally went to the apple stores and checked other mac book air and found the same issue. You won’t find many articles on this but around 6000 comments on internal apple discussion boards.DO NOT BUY THIS FAULTY PRODUCT.

MacBook Pro is not repairable. This is especially true for MacBook Pro 2018 and later.Any small problem will cost you more than 1 lacWhat if SSD fails? RAM fails? WiFi/Bluetooth not working? MacBook not charging? MacBook not turning on?You will be trapped in Apple’s ploy. All these components are soldered into the logic board. They are inseparable. For all these problem Apple will ask you to replace your entire logic board. It will cost you more than 1 lac.Third party repair is not an option for MacBook Pro 2018 and later. Apple is now very strict with its supply chain. Apple have made contracts with the OEMs that they cannot sell any chip (Such as the ISL9239, ISL9240, CD3215 and CD3217) outside Apple. This was not the case in prior generations. All this is done so that you cannot repair your new MacBook outside Apple.
